Re-issuance of International Driving Permit (IDP)



The holder of International Driving Permit (IDP) issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (Government of India) can apply for the re-issuance of IDP against his/her expired IDP, at the High Commission of India, Gaborone.


In order to do this, the applicant needs to visit the High Commission with his/her Passport along with the presently-held IDP and submit a Miscellaneous Services Application Form. The High Commission will charge a fee of Pula 150/- (Pula One Hundred Fifty) and issue a Certificate confirming the identity of the applicant, and that the applicant is holding the expired IDP as well as a valid Domestic Driving License issued by the Government of India.


Ths Certificate is needed by the appicant while applying for the fresh IDP at the web-portal www.parivahan.gov.in wherein he/she will be required to upload the requisite documents including this Certificate and the receipt issued by the High Commission. Requisite fee for obtaining IDP through the website www.parivahan.gov.in will need to be paid by the applicant online.


On receipt of application through the parivahan.gov.in website and verification of the documents, the authorities shall issue the IDP and courier it direct to the applicant at the given address.
